A classically beautiful pair George II chairs of great shape and colour.

This table is a cross between the sophisticated and the industrial.

The circular mahogany dished top sits on a gun barrel column, running into a well patinated cast iron triform base. Raised on wonderful lignum castors.

It must have had a special purpose, you certainly could not knock it over. Officers mess maybe?

A powerful little chair of great character.

A George III satinwood semi elliptical side table of good colour, the border of the top finely painted with flowers, the frieze and legs with pat erase and husks.

This table has been used since the 18thcentury and has never been restored, the top shows marks consistent with age and use and is all the better for it.

A most unusual George II mahogany mule chest of very good colour and patination, retaining it’s original handles, bracket feet and lignum casters.
The hinges and lock hasp are well worked and very substantial.

A high quality Art Deco desk of glorious colour in thuja wood with the original leather top and brass ring handles. Circa 1925

This lantern was a gift from Roger Powell to his parents Oswald and Winifred on the occasion of his (Roger’s) 21st birthday in 1917. The domed corona is engraved ‘R.P. To O.B.P. And W.M.P. 1917. The lantern was later engraved to commemorate its use in a production of ‘The Beggar’s Opera’ and is accompanied by a letter from Anthony Gardner detailing this engraving work and cleaning done by him in 1949.

A wonderfully expressive pair of 17th century sandstone lions.

Provenance: Wicken Manor, Northamptonshire.
The house was once the gatehouse for the original Manor, once the home to the Spencers of Wormleighton and then occasional home to the Spencers of Althorp. The Manor was demolished in 1703 and the gatehouse was remodelled and extended to become the manor house. It was to this remodelled manor house that the lions were brought from the demolished original.
