Two pairs of 17th century gilt wood lions from the Speakers Pew in St Margaret’s church Westminster,removed during remodelling work in the 18th century by Nicholas Spencer a vestryman and given by him to his own church, St.Margarets Ifield, West Sussex. Here they remained until recently when they were sold.
